Our
History
GeoRockStars was established in 2023. However, the idea for GeoRockStars started much earlier.
Our founder Kristin Mitchell, M.S. on the beginnings of GeoRockStars:
"While my children were in Boy and Girl Scouts and school, I lent my expertise for merit badges and field trip experiences. Even after they graduated, I continued to lead field trips and helped run an after school rock club.
While working other jobs, I pondered and prayed about how I could raise awareness of the Niagara Escarpment and Northeast Wisconsin's geology to other young students while also generating income.
During COVID all of the field trips and the club activity came to a screeching halt and more parents began homeschooling their children. Since early 2021, I have been praying for direction and began integrating my past experiences and field trip materials into something new.
As 2023 began, planning for GeoRockStars began in earnest."
I am excited to see where God leads me on this new but familiar adventure and doing what I love:
